Tow truck driver Johnathan Doyle Baikie disqualified

Published: 8 April 2026 Released by: NSW Fair Trading Listen Johnathan Doyle Baikie has been reprimanded and disqualified from holding a tow truck licence or drivers certificate for 3 years and 6 months.

NSW Fair Trading has taken disciplinary action against Johnathan Doyle Baikie after he was convicted of the following offences which occurred while performing his duties as a tow truck driver:

  • common assault
  • stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical or mental harm
  • touting/soliciting for work at scene of accident; and
  • failing to behave/comply in a prescribed manner. Based on the above conduct, Mr Baikie was found to no longer be a fit and proper person to hold a Drivers Certificate. Mr Baikie has been reprimanded, his Tow Truck Driver Certificate has been revoked, and he has been disqualified from holding a Licence or Drivers Certificate for a period of 3 years and 6 months.

NSW Fair Trading continues to take action against individuals who behave dangerously, to keep the tow truck industry safe and trustworthy.
