Summary

The New Caledonia Competition Authority (ACNC), in cooperation with the French Competition Authority (ADLC), announces that its entire body of decisional practice—nearly 300 decisions and opinions—is now available as open data on data.gouv.nc. This initiative strengthens transparency and access to public action while supporting a better understanding of competition law in New Caledonia. The data is centralized and structured to enhance predictability of economic practices for businesses, legal practitioners, researchers, and students.

What changed

The New Caledonia Competition Authority (ACNC), in partnership with the French Competition Authority (ADLC), has made its entire decisional practice publicly available as open data on data.gouv.nc. This covers nearly 300 decisions and opinions, complementing the systematic publication on the ACNC website. The initiative is part of a broader modernization effort to provide easy access to competition decisions for businesses, legal practitioners, researchers, and students.

Affected parties—including businesses operating in New Caledonia, legal practitioners, and academic researchers—will benefit from improved access to structured competition law data. This enhances transparency and predictability of competition enforcement in French overseas territories. The partnership between ACNC and ADLC reflects a shared commitment to fostering a culture of competition in mainland France and overseas territories.

Background

The New Caledonia competition authority (Autorité de la concurrence de la Nouvelle-Calédonie – ACNC), following work carried out in cooperation with the French competition authority (Autorité de la concurrence; hereinafter the “ Autorité ”), announces that its entire body of decisional practice is now available online as open data, on data.gouv.nc.

This initiative, covering nearly 300 decisions and opinions, significantly strengthens transparency and access to public action, while helping to foster dialogue with the business community and public and academic stakeholders.

This open data release complements the systematic publication of all the ACNC’s decisions and opinions on its website and is part of a broader modernisation effort to provide all users (businesses, legal practitioners, researchers and students) with quick and easy access to the ACNC’s decisions and opinions.

This data, now centralised and structured, supports a better understanding of competition law in New Caledonia and enhances the predictability of economic practices.

A strategic partnership between the ACNC and the Autorité This project is part of a close collaboration between the ACNC and the Autorité. The partnership, already active in other areas such as the exchange of expertise and innovation, reflects a shared commitment to fostering a culture of competition in support of economic development, both in mainland France and the overseas territories. In this regard, the Autorité ’s decisions and opinions are also available online, on data.gouv.fr.
