What changed
The European Commission issued a formal non-opposition decision clearing the notified concentration involving CPP Investments, I Squared, and Inkia Energy (Case M.12373). This Phase 1 merger review decision indicates the Commission found the transaction did not threaten competition in the relevant market and could proceed without conditions.
For the parties involved—CPP Investments and I Squared as acquiring entities, and Inkia Energy as the target—the clearance removes regulatory uncertainty and allows the transaction to close. The decision reflects standard EU merger control procedures under the EU Merger Regulation and has immediate legal effect.
What to do next
