Budapest, December 4, 2025 – Csaba Balázs Rigó, President of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), was elected to the 17-member Bureau of the Competition Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) during the OECD Competition Week in Paris. At this biannual meeting, the President of the GVH presented the 2025 report of the OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition in Budapest (RCC), as well as the program plan for the following year. The RCC was established on 16 February 2005, with the primary goal of building on the professional background of the two institutions to provide support to the competition authorities of Eastern, Southeastern, and Central European countries in the field of competition law and policy by organising competition law trainings and other professional programs. There are three such training centres in the world, one in Budapest, one in Peru, and one in the Republic of Korea. Moreover, the fourth centre will begin operating in Saudi Arabia from next year.
The RCC celebrated its 20 th anniversary in 2025. Since its founding, the RCC has hosted 164 events, engaging approximately 6,600 professionals in knowledge exchange and capacity-building. The OECD and the GVH celebrated the anniversary with a joint professional conference in February.
