Attorney General Pamela Bondi and EOIR Director Daren K. Margolin delivered remarks, and Attorney General Bondi administered the oath of office during the investiture, which was held today at the Department of Justice’s Great Hall in Washington, D.C.

“This Department of Justice has made reducing the immigration court backlog a top priority, and these 42 new highly qualified judges will help us deliver on that goal,” said Attorney General Bondi. “Under the Trump Administration, immigration judges will decide cases based on the law – not politics.” After a thorough application process, Attorney General Bondi appointed Stephen P. Biographical information for the newly appointed immigration judges follows: Stephen P. Alcorn, Immigration Judge, Sterling Immigration Court Stephen P. Alcorn was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Alcorn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1989 from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Juris Doctorate in 2000 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. From October 2022 to February 2026, he was an attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security, assigned as a legal instructor for the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico. From March 2013 to December 2021, he served as the city attorney for Montrose, Colorado. From October 2004 to March 2013, he was a judge of the District Court, State of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From June 1997 to August 2004, he was an assistant district attorney for the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office. Judge Brady earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1984 from Iowa State University, a Juris Doctor with Honors in 1992 from Drake University Law School, a Master of Laws with Honors in 1999 from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Legal Center and School, and a Master of Business Administration in 2019 from the University of Iowa.
