USPTO Patent Grant US12586113B2 for User Advice System
Summary
The USPTO has granted patent US12586113B2 for a system and method for generating user advice notifications based on preferences and system interactions. The patent, assigned to KBC GROEP NV, details how user preferences and message source reliability influence the delivery of these notifications.
What changed
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted patent US12586113B2 to KBC GROEP NV. This patent covers systems and methods for generating and providing executable notifications to users based on their interactions and preferences. The technology involves collecting user preferences, continuously receiving messages from various information sources, storing this as context data, and creating an allocation proposition. This proposition is compared to a comparative composition of entities, and an executable notification is provided, incorporating user preferences to filter messages and adjusting system belief based on source uncertainty and impact.
This patent grant is primarily relevant for technology companies developing user-facing systems, particularly those involving personalized advice or notifications. While it does not impose new regulatory obligations, it represents intellectual property in the domain of user interaction and AI-driven systems. Companies operating in this space should be aware of this granted patent, especially if their systems involve similar notification generation mechanisms or data processing based on user preferences and information source reliability. The patent's abstract suggests potential applications in financial advice or other areas where user context and information filtering are critical.

Abstract
Systems and methods for generating and providing an executable notification to a user based on their interactions with a system. The method involves prompting the user to input values for various preferences, and continuously receiving messages from multiple information sources related to predefined physical and virtual entities, which are stored as context data. An allocation proposition is created by assigning values to the entities, and compared to a comparative composition of entities. The executable notification, which includes the allocation proposition, is provided based on the comparison. User preferences, including regularization types and levels, are incorporated to filter and process messages. Sources are uncertainty and impact, which is used to suppress messages from sources with high uncertainty or significance. The user is prompted to change information sources and obtain a sentiment score, which is used to adjust the system's belief in information sources. User authorization is required to execute the notification.
