PenCom: Revised Documentation for Data Recapture Exercise
Summary
The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has issued a circular revising documentation requirements for RSA holders participating in the data recapture exercise. This update simplifies the process for active contributors, retirees, and those with name or date of birth changes, effective immediately.
What changed
The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has issued a circular (REF: PenCom/TECH/NDM/2026/48) dated February 16, 2026, that revises and simplifies the documentation required from Retirement Savings Account (RSA) holders for the ongoing data recapture exercise. This circular supersedes a previous one from September 25, 2024, and outlines streamlined requirements for active contributors and retirees, including acceptable forms of identification and specific documents needed for name or date of birth changes. The revised requirements are effective immediately.
Licensed Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) must now obtain the updated documentation from RSA holders before uploading their recaptured details to the Enhanced Contributor Registration System (ECRS) or via the Data Recapture Self Service Portal. Compliance officers at PFAs should review the specific documentation requirements detailed in section 2.0 of the circular to ensure adherence. The immediate effective date means PFAs must implement these changes without delay to avoid discrepancies in the data recapture process.
What to do next
- Review and implement the revised documentation requirements for the data recapture exercise as outlined in the circular.
- Ensure all applicable documents are obtained from RSA holders prior to uploading recaptured details to the ECRS or Self Service Portal.
- Update internal procedures to reflect the simplified documentation requirements for name and date of birth changes.
