What changed

The Reserve Bank of India has extended the operative period of restrictions placed on The Konark Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Ulhasnagar by an additional three months. The extension runs from the close of business on April 23, 2026 to the close of business on July 23, 2026, and is subject to review. The extension is issued under sub-section (1) of Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. The source explicitly notes that this extension should not be construed as RBI being satisfied with the bank's financial position.

Affected parties include The Konark Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd., Ulhasnagar, which remains subject to all previously imposed restrictions and conditions. Other cooperative banks and banking entities regulated by RBI should note that this extension reflects continued supervisory scrutiny and does not signal any improvement in the bank's compliance standing.
