Summary
The USPTO granted patent US12602680B2 to the Digital Currency Institute of the People's Bank of China covering digital currency wallet management and remote control systems. The patent describes methods for detecting offline states with a digital currency platform, using satellite communication to obtain timestamps, calculating offline duration against a preset threshold, and generating wallet key information sets for synchronization when the threshold is exceeded. The patent contains 20 claims and was filed on October 17, 2022 under application number 18703354.
What changed
The USPTO issued patent grant US12602680B2 to the Digital Currency Institute of the People's Bank of China, covering digital currency wallet management methods and remote control systems. The patent addresses offline wallet operations by detecting loss of connection with a digital currency platform, obtaining time via communication satellite, calculating offline duration against a preset threshold, and generating wallet key information for platform synchronization when the threshold is exceeded.
Affected parties include entities developing or operating digital currency wallet systems, particularly those involving offline transaction capabilities. The patent's assignee is a People's Bank of China subsidiary focused on central bank digital currency (CBDC) research, suggesting the technology may support China's e-CNY digital yuan initiative. Patent grants establish intellectual property rights but do not impose compliance obligations; however, companies designing competing digital wallet systems should consider potential infringement implications.

Abstract
The provided are a digital currency wallet management method, apparatus, and system, remote control method, apparatus and system for a digital currency wallet which relate to the field of computer technologies. A method includes: detecting a connection state with a digital currency platform; obtaining a current moment by means of a communication satellite in a case that the connection state with the digital currency platform indicates an offline state; calculating an offline duration according to the current moment and a self-saved last synchronization moment; determining whether the offline duration is greater than a preset offline duration; and in a case that it is determined that the offline duration is greater than the preset offline duration, generating a wallet key information set, and sending the wallet key information set to the digital currency platform, so that the digital currency platform synchronizes and processes the wallet key information set.
