PCAOB Chairman Logothetis to Host Forum in Jersey City for Auditors of Small Businesses and Auditors of Broker-Dealers

Additional details are announced for the May 13 in-person and livestreamed forum, which will offer updates, resources, and insights on topics affecting audit quality

WASHINGTON, Apr. 13, 2026 The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) announced new details today for the in-person PCAOB forum for auditors of small businesses and auditors of broker-dealers to be hosted by Chairman Demetrios (Jim) Logothetis on May 13, 2026. The one-day-event—part of a series of 2026 forums—will take place at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, 2 Exchange Pl, Jersey City, NJ 07302. The forum will also be livestreamed for those who register in advance of the event.

“These events reflect the PCAOB’s commitment to open dialogue and practical, real-world engagement with auditors of small businesses and broker-dealers,” said Chairman Logothetis. “I look forward to hearing from participants about how we can continue strengthening audit quality together.”

Tailored to PCAOB-registered firms auditing smaller public companies or broker-dealers, the forums provide a unique opportunity for auditors to interact with representatives from the PCAOB and other regulators.

In addition to remarks from Chairman Logothetis, the Jersey City forum agenda includes the following:

  • Presentations by PCAOB staff from the Office of the Chief Auditor, the Division of Registration and Inspections, and the Division of Enforcement and Investigations.

  • Presentation of illustrative examples related to audit risks associated with revenue, cash flow projections, related party transactions, and review of exemption reports.

  • Presentations by staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Registration Required for the May 13 Forum; CPE Available

There is no fee to attend the Jersey City forum, but advance registration is required and can be completed here. The event will also be livestreamed, and, as with the previous forums, recordings from the event will be made available on the PCAOB’s website. Attendees can earn continuing professional education (CPE) credits by participating in either the in-person or livestreamed event.

Forum attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance via email. There also will be an opportunity to submit questions during the forum.
