Patent Application for Wireless Network Communication Method

Email

Summary

The USPTO has published a new patent application (US20260088954A1) detailing a wireless network communication method and system. The application, filed by inventors Bo Gong, Mengshi Hu, and Ming Gan, aims to reduce packet error rates in next-generation Wi-Fi protocols and UWB systems.

What changed

This document is a publication of a patent application, not a rule or guidance. It describes a novel communication method, apparatus, and system designed for wireless local area networks supporting advanced protocols like IEEE 802.11ax, 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7), and future iterations, as well as UWB-based systems. The core innovation involves transmitting a PPDU with a specific bandwidth configuration (128 subcarriers) and a higher quantity of pilot subcarriers (greater than 6) to effectively reduce the packet error rate.

As this is a patent application, it does not impose immediate regulatory obligations on companies. However, it signals potential future technological advancements and intellectual property developments in wireless communication standards. Companies operating in the telecommunications and technology sectors, particularly those involved in Wi-Fi and UWB technology development, should monitor this application and related patents for potential licensing requirements or competitive landscape shifts.

Abstract

A communication method, a communication apparatus, and a communication system are provided, are applied to a wireless local area network system that supports the 802.11 series protocols, for example, a next-generation Wi-Fi protocol of IEEE 802.11ax, such as 802.11be, Wi-Fi 7, or EHT, for another example, a next-generation of 802.11be, such as 802.11bn or Wi-Fi 8, 802.11ay, or 802.11aj, and may be further applied to a UWB-based wireless personal area network system, a sensing (sensing) system, and the like. A first communication apparatus generates and sends a PPDU. Correspondingly, a second communication apparatus receives and parses the PPDU. A bandwidth for transmitting the PPDU may include 128 subcarriers, and a quantity of pilot subcarriers in the 128 subcarriers is greater than 6. A packet error rate is effectively reduced by using the foregoing method.
