Summary

The International Trade Commission has initiated antidumping and countervailing duty investigations into Lithium Hexafluorophosphate from China. These investigations, identified as Investigation Nos. 701-TA-790 and 731-TA-1778 (Preliminary), mark the beginning of a process to determine if these imports are unfairly priced or subsidized.

What changed

The International Trade Commission (ITC) has officially initiated preliminary antidumping and countervailing duty investigations concerning imports of Lithium Hexafluorophosphate from China. These investigations, docketed as Investigation Nos. 701-TA-790 and 731-TA-1778, are a formal step in assessing whether Chinese manufacturers are selling this chemical product in the U.S. market at unfairly low prices or are benefiting from illegal government subsidies.

This initiation means that the ITC will proceed with its preliminary phase analysis. Importers and exporters dealing with Lithium Hexafluorophosphate from China should anticipate potential trade remedies, including duties, if the preliminary findings indicate injury to the domestic industry. Further information regarding the schedule for these preliminary investigations and subsequent phases will be provided by the ITC.

What to do next

  1. Review ITC Investigation Nos. 701-TA-790 and 731-TA-1778 for potential implications on Lithium Hexafluorophosphate imports.
  2. Monitor ITC and Department of Commerce announcements regarding the progress and findings of these investigations.
  3. Assess current supply chain and pricing strategies for Lithium Hexafluorophosphate in light of potential antidumping and countervailing duties.
