Summary

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended the public comment period for the proposed rule regarding the Interstate Transport Plan Review for the 2015 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The comment period, originally set to end, has been extended by 20 days.

What changed

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has extended the public comment period for its proposed rule concerning the Interstate Transport Plan Review for the 2015 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). This extension provides an additional 20 days for interested parties to submit their feedback on the proposed regulations.

Regulated entities, particularly those in the energy and manufacturing sectors, should be aware of this extended deadline and ensure their comments are submitted by the new closing date of March 23, 2026. This extension offers a greater opportunity for stakeholders to provide input on the proposed rule, which could impact air quality compliance strategies.

What to do next

  1. Review the proposed rule on Interstate Transport Plan for the 2015 Ozone NAAQS.
  2. Submit comments by the extended deadline of March 23, 2026.
