EIOPA delegates DORA Q&A adoption to Chairperson
Summary
EIOPA, in cooperation with EBA and ESMA, has adopted a decision to delegate the adoption of answers to straightforward DORA questions to the EIOPA Chairperson. This aims to simplify procedures and optimize resource utilization.
What changed
EIOPA, in coordination with EBA and ESMA, has issued a decision to delegate the authority for adopting answers to straightforward and non-controversial questions related to the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) to the EIOPA Chairperson. This delegation, made under Regulation 1094/2010, is intended to streamline decision-making processes and improve efficiency within the organization, while still allowing for the escalation of complex or controversial Q&As to the Board of Supervisors.
This change primarily affects the internal administrative procedures of EIOPA and its sister agencies. For regulated entities, this means that the process for obtaining clarification on DORA-related queries may become more efficient. While this is an internal procedural change, it supports the broader objective of simplifying regulatory compliance under DORA. No direct new obligations or compliance deadlines are imposed on regulated firms by this specific decision.
