Summary

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has removed one person and one vessel from the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List. This action unblocks their property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction.

What changed

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued a notice announcing the removal of ARCTIC VOYAGER INCORPORATED and the vessel KIARA M from the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) List. This action, effective March 4, 2026, means that the property and interests in property of ARCTIC VOYAGER INCORPORATED are unblocked and no longer subject to U.S. jurisdiction. The removal is linked to Executive Order 13850 concerning Venezuela.

While this is a removal from a sanctions list, entities that previously had dealings with ARCTIC VOYAGER INCORPORATED or the KIARA M should review their records and ensure all previous blocking requirements have ceased. Compliance officers should confirm that no residual obligations remain and update internal watchlists accordingly. No specific compliance deadline is provided as this is a de-listing action.

What to do next

  1. Review internal records for any prior blocking actions related to ARCTIC VOYAGER INCORPORATED or the KIARA M.
  2. Update internal compliance watchlists to reflect the removal from the SDN List.
  3. Ensure all previous blocking requirements related to these entities have ceased.
