Summary

The Federal Procurement Policy Office, Department of Defense, General Services Administration, and NASA have published Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Federal Acquisition Circular 2026-01. This update introduces a compliance guide specifically designed for small entities.

What changed

This document announces Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Federal Acquisition Circular 2026-01, which includes a Small Entity Compliance Guide. The rule is issued by the Office of Management and Budget, Office of Federal Procurement Policy, Department of Defense, General Services Administration, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The primary purpose is to provide guidance to small entities regarding federal procurement regulations.

Regulated entities, particularly small businesses involved in federal contracting, should review this guide to ensure compliance with current FAR requirements. While this is a guide and not a substantive change to regulations, understanding its content is crucial for maintaining compliance. No specific compliance deadline is mentioned, as it pertains to ongoing adherence to established regulations.

What to do next

  1. Review the Small Entity Compliance Guide within FAR Federal Acquisition Circular 2026-01
  2. Ensure internal procurement processes align with guidance provided for small entities
