Summary

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has extended the executive assignment of State Attorney Alexcia Cox for one year, until January 2, 2027. This extension pertains to her representation of the State of Florida in charges pending against Arseline Pierre, as the case remains ongoing.

What changed

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has issued Executive Order 26-48, extending the executive assignment of State Attorney Alexcia Cox for an additional year, through January 2, 2027. This extension is necessary because the duties assigned to State Attorney Cox concerning charges against Arseline Pierre, initially established by Executive Order 25-02, have not yet been completed due to the ongoing nature of the case.

This action reaffirms the previous assignment and ensures continued representation by the assigned State Attorney. The State Attorney is required to notify the Governor by December 2, 2026, if further time is needed. This is a procedural extension related to a specific ongoing criminal case and does not impose new obligations on regulated entities outside of the judicial system.

What to do next

  1. Monitor case progress if involved in related proceedings.
