Summary

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 26-46, extending the assignment of the State Attorney for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit to the Trevoy Williams case for an additional year, until March 27, 2027. This extension is necessary as the case remains pending and the assigned State Attorney has not yet completed their duties.

What changed

Executive Order 26-46 extends the assignment of the State Attorney for Florida's Eleventh Judicial Circuit concerning charges against Trevoy Williams. This extension, originally established by Executive Order 24-50 and previously extended and amended, will now last for an additional year, concluding on March 27, 2027. The extension is granted because the case is still pending and the assigned State Attorney requires more time to complete their duties.

This executive order reaffirms the previous assignments and extends the State Attorney's role in the Trevoy Williams case. The Assigned State Attorney must notify the Governor by February 27, 2027, if further time is needed. This action is a procedural extension within the judicial system, ensuring the case can be properly concluded.

What to do next

  1. Note the extension of the State Attorney's assignment until March 27, 2027.
  2. Be aware that the Assigned State Attorney must notify the Governor by February 27, 2027, if additional time is required.
