PSC Urges Utility Customers to Seek Assistance Before Disconnection Moratorium Ends
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is urging utility customers with outstanding bills to make payment arrangements or apply for assistance before the winter moratorium on disconnections ends on April 15, 2026. Customers are encouraged to contact their utility or the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) for support.

Wisconsin PSC Announces Grant Funding for Telecom Access and Affordability

Wisconsin Nuclear Energy Study Partnership Announced
Governor Evers and the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) announced a partnership with UW-Madison to study future nuclear energy opportunities in the state. The study, funded by $2 million and mandated by 2025 Wisconsin Act 12, will explore traditional, small modular, and advanced nuclear technologies.

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) is reminding utility customers to seek payment arrangements or financial assistance before the statewide winter disconnection moratorium begins on November 1, 2025. The moratorium prohibits utility disconnections for nonpayment for residential heating services until April 15, 2026.
Utility Reconnections During Heat Advisories
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin issued a notice reminding utility customers that reconnections are available during heat advisories. Wisconsin law prohibits utility disconnections during heat advisories and requires reconnection for occupied dwellings if health is threatened.
Wisconsin PSC Awards $750,000 for Telecommunications Access
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin awarded $750,000 in grants from the Universal Service Fund to 19 non-profit and higher-learning entities. These grants aim to expand access and affordability of telecommunications services for low-income households, persons with disabilities, and to increase participation in the Lifeline Program.
