Summary

The Department of Defense has submitted a revision to an information collection (DLA Form 2507) for OMB review. This collection is used to validate hazardous waste disposal facilities for US Government contracts. Comments are due by March 27, 2026.

What changed

The Department of Defense (DoD) has submitted a revision to an existing information collection, DLA Form 2507, for review and public comment by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This form is used to validate hazardous waste disposal facilities that contract with the U.S. Government, ensuring they meet permitting, insurance, and regulatory standards. The current request involves a revision to this collection, with 250 respondents expected to provide 1 response each, totaling 250 annual responses and 250 burden hours.

Regulated entities, specifically companies contracting with the U.S. Government for hazardous waste disposal, should review the proposed collection and submit comments by March 27, 2026, via www.reginfo.gov. While the submission is voluntary and the current collection is being revised, failure to meet established standards can result in rejection from the Qualified Facility List (QFL), preventing participation in government contracts for hazardous waste disposal.

What to do next

  1. Review DLA Form 2507 and its associated information collection requirements.
  2. Submit comments on the proposed revision to OMB by March 27, 2026, via www.reginfo.gov.
  3. Ensure compliance with the validation process for hazardous waste disposal facilities if contracting with the U.S. Government.

Needs and Uses: The information collected via the DLA Form 2507, “Application for Qualified Facility List (QFL),” is used to validate hazardous
waste disposal facilities around the world. Prior to the United States (U.S.) Government sending hazardous waste to a disposal
facility, the facility must undergo a vetting process to ensure they are properly permitted, insured, and operating within
local, state, and/or national regulations. Respondents are companies that have entered into a contract with the U.S. Government
to dispose of hazardous waste and hazardous material on behalf of the U.S. Government. The result of the review process is
the disposal facility's addition to the QFL and authorized use by the disposal contractor. If the facility fails to meet the
minimum standards established by DLA Disposition Services, the facility is rejected/disapproved and will not be added to the
QFL.

Affected Public: Business or other for-profit.
