The present invention relates to a system (100) for detecting respiratory gas components, comprising a respiratory gas inlet (101),a measuring cell (103) connected to the respiratory gas inlet (101) with at least one respiratory gas sensor,a gas outlet (105) downstream of the measuring cell (103),a data processing unit connected to the measuring cell (103),an energy supply (107), characterized in that the system (100) has an additional sensor (109) for measuring at least the carbon dioxide content of the ambient air of the system (100).
