Abstract
A system and methods for medication management and incentivized compliance using a distributed ledger are disclosed. A medication dispenser with a lock, weight sensor, and control unit communicates with a blockchain network executing smart contracts that authorize dispensing events, record authenticated telemetry, and account for tokenized dose entitlements normalized in morphine-milligram equivalents (MME). A prescriber device assigns entitlements to a patient wallet; the dispenser unlocks only upon receipt of an on-chain authorization event that cryptographically binds the requested dose to measured inventory and policy constraints. Post-dispense, signed weight deltas are committed to an authenticated store for audit. Optional risk scoring derived from historical usage features gates dispensing or escalates to multi-party authorization. Unused entitlements may be reconciled under policy via redemption logic. The architecture reduces diversion by coupling cryptographic authorization with tamper-evident telemetry and immutable audit trails.
