MEDICAL INTERVENTIONAL CATHETER

Abstract

The present invention relates to a medical interventional catheter, which includes a catheter body with both diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities. The catheter body includes a distal functional member configured for image-based monitoring of a tubular lumen of interest and for release of a therapeutic source to a target location in the tubular lumen of interest. The therapeutic source includes therapeutic energy and/or a therapeutic substance. This interventional catheter with both diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities provides real-time image-based monitoring in a therapeutic procedure, making the procedure more accurate and effective.
