Abstract

This application provides a communication method, a communications apparatus, and a system, to help an access network device more accurately learn of an end to end latency. The method includes: A first communications apparatus determines buffer latency information, where the buffer latency information is determined based on a buffer latency of one or more data packets, and the buffer latency indicates a time interval between a time point at which a data packet arrives at an access stratum AS and a time point at which a corresponding buffer status report BSR is sent, or the buffer latency indicates a time interval between a time point at which a data packet arrives at an AS and a time point at which a corresponding uplink grant is received; and the first communications apparatus sends the buffer latency information.
