Abstract
A method for manufacturing a positive-electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery includes: a step of continuously calcining a powder mixture containing a lithium compound and a positive-electrode active material precursor in a heating facility of a fixed bed conveyance system, while conveying the powder mixture in a direction from an inlet to an outlet of the heating facility and heating the powder mixture, in which, with respect to a conveyance direction of the powder mixture, an amount of a gas supplied from an outside of the heating facility to an inside of the heating facility in a region from a center portion of the heating facility to the outlet is larger than an amount of a gas supplied from the outside of the heating facility to the inside of the heating facility in a region from the center portion of the heating facility to the inlet, and an amount of a gas exhausted from the inside of the heating facility to the outside of the heating facility in the region from the center portion of the heating facility to the inlet is larger than an amount of a gas exhausted from the inside of the heating facility to the outside of the heating facility in the region from the center portion of the heating facility to the outlet.
